Safe Mode Radio Help

Hello there

Need some help. I have a 2003 Audi A6 1.9tdi and the battery recently died. On jumping the car, the radio reverted into "safe mode". I now the procedure and I do have the unlock code however I cannot manage to get the radio into a state where it will allow me enter the code. I have entered numerous button sequences none of which have been successful. Any help would be great!!

hold rds and scan,safe mode should disable

Thanks for the reply .
But scan and RDS don't work, does it depend on the model of radio? I have tried multiple button holding sequences. Any other suggestions?

Press TP AND TA simultaneously or TP and RDS,It depends what radio you have
