Hi,

I currently own a seat leon 1.9TDI which i have owned for a year now. It has full service history now coming up to 4 years old. So my next service i will be looking for a mot/service as well as cam belt being changed.

I was wondering whether someone could give me an estimate price for the cam belt?

Thankyou

Jason

prices will vary but replace the water pump at the same time or you might regret it

Roughly £350 to do it properly with a genuine cam belt kit, exchange water pump, fresh G12+ coolant and having the all important engine mount bolts changed which most non dealer or VAG specialist garages know nothing about having to do.

For an interim service (oil/filter and pollen filter), yes that sounds about right

Thanks ;)

They are one time only stretch bolts (torque plus angle) and the VW Worksop system it says “always replace”, so I do. I also like to change the consul to block bolts as the thought of one coming loose is not nice. I have seen it happen and normally it snaps the rear mounting lug off the block so a new engine is required. For the price of new bolts it is just not worth the risk.
