Hi Everyone,
I'm going nuts abut this. I've got an s-line with led lights front sand back and I'm off to Belgium for the weekend.

I realise that I don't need spare bulbs as I can't gain access to the LED's or Xenon bulbs. But I spoke to a local garage this morning how recommended that I carry a spare pack of bulbs even though they can't be used.

What do you reckon, I don't want a nasty surprise if I get pulled over?

I'd just take the bulbs that can be changed. Not due to the risk of being checked but it's a good idea.

I've done thousands of miles abroad and haven't ever been asked ... although when my S4's numberplate bulb went it was handy having one to hand ;)

that's a good plan. The guy at the dealers suggested I wouldn't be able to use the bulb kit at all.

i like your idea.

Thanks,
Tim

TT

I went to France recently and bought the Halfords Kit 9 for about a tenner, which seemed the most appropriate for the A4 S-Line.

That's cheap! The reason I never bought a set was they seemed expensive as they included halogen bulbs etc than I didn't need.

Hi Everyone,
and I'm off to Belgium for the weekend.

You could buy the spare bulb kit on the Friday and take it back to the shop for a refund on the Monday. (They don't need to know it has been out of the country).

And don't forget the chocolates! :approve:

I went to France last month and didn't bother buying bulbs because after some research on the net found that they were recommended and not required.

I decided that if anything were to go wrong, I would find a garage over there, although I didn't see an Audi garage on my travels :nervous:

Don't forget your HI VIZ vest either!

I would say that spare bulbs are not needed on the continent (its more of a covieneince thing). Whereas First Aid Kit / Warning Triangle along with Hi Viz Vest are mandatory in a lot of countries.

If you run out of fuel on an Autobahn and you have not got a Fuel Cannister (min 5 litres) then expect a fine, but remember that anything over that is frowned upon by the Channel Tunnel people (yep! madness), God Forbid you turn up in a vehicle with a gas conversion.
