Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone could shed any light on a couple of little intermittent problems that seem to occur randomly to my 07 plate 2 litre TDI sport which currently has 38K on the clock?
Not long after starting the car and driving normally, the car seems to 'hunt' or stutter on a part or gentle throttle, which does not settle until a more positive throttle input is given. It seems to occur regardless of gear, but more commonly in 3rd through 5th. This eventually goes away but re-occurs once the car has been stopped and started again.
Another strange fault that appeared recently was my fuel gauge failed to read any contents despite being half full. Upon checking my MFA I found that whilst I could obtain all the usual mpg/distance/time figures, it would not calculate miles remaining to refuel. When I got home, I stopped and after a few moments re-started the car and the fault cleared!
The car is due its 40K servicing in August this year, and other than a clutch replacement carried out under warranty at 19K has performed all that has been asked without complaint.
Having spoken to my independent local VW/Audi specialist, he has no knowlegde of either of these problems and thought I would see if these were common/unique occurances for fear of re-inventing the wheel.
