Just another silly question, has anyone got an issue with the front seat height adjustment, wont help i'm 6ft 5, but i just dont feel quite comfortable yet, i'd like the seat to be a bit lower, but cant get it there and so the rear view mirrow seems to be in the way a bit when driving, i feel i have to look around the mirror, or slouch a bit

Anyone else have this kind of issue or possible ideas, and dont say use the seat lowering function on the side, it is fully lowered :approve:

The rear view mirror is massive it took me quite a bit of getting used to it. I guess its that big because its a self dimming unit. Would rather it be the size of the one I used to have in my Mk2 Escort!

What with the low roof line and you being 6ft 5 I doubt you will ever be able to see under it. I'm only 5ft 11 and I dont have my seat on the lowest setting will check in the morning to see if it makes any difference to us short people.

Bit of an update, i have now clocked up nearly 5K and it's not good, I have been off work for 2 weeks with back pain, i really think this is down to the position of the seat, it tilts, but wont rake, anyone else got this issue?

I am having treatment for this pain and i'm, getting better, but then i get back in my CC and it hurts again. I'm really happy with the car just not the seat / driving position. Anyone got any bright ideas? Glad i have the 140 GT DSG as only have to move my right leg now.

Dont get me wrong I really like my CC, and it was a good move from my A6 2.7 tdi and if i can sort something out with this seating thingy i'd score it 10 out of 10

This was the main reason I didn't have a CC. I'm 6ft 4 and found this to be a real problem, more a case of the roof being too low, rather than the seat being too high. The mirror gives a large blind spot which at our height means you have to either look around or below it - far from ideal on our busy roads.

Despite my previous post above, I'm now wishing I had a CC with sport seats as my B6 Highline seats give me the same back problem you have. The sport seats are the most comfortable seats I have ever driven in, but very much a personal choice of course. My Passat B6 Highline seats are more like sitting on a church pew. At least they are heated which helps with the discomfort, and I also have a tube of deep heat in the car to use when a little more relief is needed. Between having my first B6 Passat with sport seats and my current Highline B6 I had an A6 SLine. The seats in this were multi adjustable which was ideal, I just didn't like the rest of the car.
I hope you find a solution soon, it spoils the ownership feeling of an otherwise excellent car if you have an issue like this.

After several hours even days of consideration, i have now decided my health is too important to me, so it does pain me to say this but i have been and px'd my cc this weekend.

I will be sorry to see it go, but maybe i should have realised this before i bought it, that basically if you are six foot or taller then this really isn't a good car choice for you. Also the seats in my opinon are still, how can i put this without offending anyone, crap, ie there is no really support, not what you would expect from a car of this nature anyway, and being a GT, i find it very diffucult to understand especially when we all know what GT stands for. But for anyone under six foot, this really wont be an issue so please dont take this as a tall persons rant, it's not, it's more an advisory to taller people.

For anyone who is interested, i have switched back to Audi, but a 2010 A4 saloon, 2.0 S line multitronic, so basically the same, but trust me, it is a far better setup for me, and the deal i got, is actually going to be £20 cheaper a month than my CC, so i'm in a good postion, quite happy and taking delivery on Friday evening all being well. :biglaugh:

so farewell to my CC threads and on with the 2008 A4 threads, but there again now we have 2 x Audi A4's ooh joy :beerchug:

Seats are a very personal thing but I also find the CC and Passat sport seats uncomfortable. The seat base is heavily sloping which puts the weight on the base of your spine, the seat back support is also lacking which means your lumber region takes alll the load. My 2009 C5 seats were very similar and I swapped that after 8 weeks, I lost £4000.
The "Comfort" seats fitted to the Passat saloon highline I find OK, there not as good as the Climate Controlled full electric seats I had in my last Mondeo but I can drive for a few hours in the Passat and not get out with back stiffness.

Manufacturers offer all sorts of toys as standard equipment on cars but I wish full electric seat adjustment was standard on more cars.

Seating is now my No1 priority when buying a car.

Cheers
Lee

I agree seating is a very personal thing.

I'm 5'10" and find the CC GT leather seats supremely comfortable, and have done many longer stints in them.

I tend to run the seat at its lowest position, personal preference I guess. Not found the rear-view mirror intrusive. ( Although I know what you mean - on a MINI its terrible!!)

A colleague finds his new Merc C-class crippling, so its not even a German thing. Best seats I've found to-date are BMW's MSport ones, the adjustable seat squab length and inflatable side bolsters I find awesome.

Hope this allays the fears of those of you still waiting for your CC's.

Agree with all of this, and totally disagree with lee about the non sport , Passat seats - which just proves how much of a personal thing it is. The sport seats which I believe are the same as the ones in the Golf GT I have at the moment I find infinitely better than the comfort Passat ones - which provide absolutely zero thigh support. BMW MSport are the best I've encountered too, although mine had the adjustable seat base but didn't have the inflatable bolsters, is that a more recent addition (mine was an X plate)?

Loved the sport seats in my last Passat, really don't like the seats in my Highline at all. I don't know how VW can call them 'comfort' seats.

The Golf sport seats are different, and a little too narrow for me. The older Passat Sport seats are the same as those in the CC. Hopefully the new B7 Passat Sport seats will be as good as the earlier sport seats.

Worried now that the seats in the CC when it arrives won't be as supportive as the ones in the Golf :aargh4:

However looking at the pictures and judging by the other comments I think they'll be OK.

The comfort seats were the one thing I hated about my now departed Highline B6, it would be enough to stop me having another model with those seats in the future.

The seats will be fine for you in the CC. I'm 6' 4" and 125 kilo's, and found the Golf mk6 Sport seats a little too narrow on the seat squab and base, so just a personal thing for me.

I also wouldn't have another Highline for the same reason.

I've had both the comfort seats (my last B6) and the sports seats in my current SEL B6. Definitely liked the Sports seats more and I'm pleased that they're fitted to the CC I'm about to order.

The big thing that I would not do without is the 12 way electric seats with memory. Can't believe there'll be many people who wouldn't be able to find a comfortable position. Also, I'm just over 6' and my wife is just under 5' - the memory is indispensible.
