Hi all
I a planning to buy a 924 with a knackered engine and am exploring 3 options. One is to fit via a modified bellhousing a Vauxhall 2.0 Red Top and the second is to fit a VAG 1.9 TDi with tuning box, maybe from an Audi 80 or A4 and lastly a petrol 5 pot.
I believe the 2.0 engine originally in the 924 was also fitted to the 80/100, VW LT and AMC Gremlin.
Does anyone know if any of the crop of 1.9 TDi engines have a bellhousing bolt pattern the same as the petrol unit fitted to the 924? If so it could be an easy swap, and with a tuning box fitted at least as quick as the original and with 50mpg to boot.
The same goes for the 5 pot motors.
