Exhaust Problems

Hello, i have a problem with my 2.0L 8Valve.
About a week ago i heard a rattle from the underside of my car.
I 've had a look and i think that theres a bracket missing. It all went Pete Tong yesterday when my car started losing power throughout the rev range. a bit of white smoke coming out the back of the car too.

Basiclly i would like to know what problems this could be so i don't get done over by the garage.

white smoke is burning antifreeze, you may have a head gasket leak, keep an eye on your oil and coolant levels/clarity

Turns out it was my cat that was away the White smoke was actauly the honeycomb centre firing out the back. All is well now new cat fitted. Thanks for the re any hows
