Chaps,

Nice comparisson shots of Lava S line's with or with Chrome Grill pack.

Parked up beside this Avant at the weekend and took these.

Pic's don't really do the chrome justice. In the flesh it makes one 'ell of a difference.

Note......it was a quat, mine has S line badge on the front.

Oh and apologies for state of mine.....its normally sparkling at the weekends.

I'm a big fan of the chrome, i've done it to my car and I think it looks great. Its a nice cheap mod too if you use the chrome strip from Halfords or similar.

The "Bling" grill (aka Scotty method) looks great on dark colours - wasn't sure at first but really like it now. The standard grille is sparse in comparison.

Have to say, "The Cheepo Chrome Treatment" looks superb. Was a bit sceptical at first (was thinking about "Rover" look A La 90s, dark green with chrome on every“conceivable exterior trim piece with added Horshoe and enamel AA Badge;)).

It is really SO!! cheap that as other members have said "What have you got to loose?".

On a quartz grey car, it gives that extra touch, and I will be leaving it on till the jet washer overcomes its adhesive properties.

I did post this originally but worth saying again I guess.

It wasn't my idea!

I did have the thought a while back but a guy in the US did it first and I just brought it across the pond.

It still staggers me Audi want so much.

No one else tempted by doing the mirrors yet? (You do need a MY2010)

I wasn't sure about it but once I did it I though "these can stay on a bit longer" and they're still there so far !

Oh and this is cheaper than the grill coz it cost nothing due to using the left overs ;)

No probs

The first one i puchased was from the dealers and in was just a flat badge.
Tried fixing it with double sided tape but not successful.

Then purchased one of these......

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Audi-S-Line-Front-Grill-Badge-A4-Genuine-NEW-/220630667356?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item335e9cd05c

It has a flat plate at 90 degrees to the badge which sits on top of a horri grille bar which also has a grove which sits nicely over one of the vertical bars.

Does that make sence??????

I can post a pic over the weekend if needed.

THanks for that and yes please a photo would be great also would love to see a close up of the chrome grill work?
I am getting my Phantom Black avant sline 2.7 in 1 week and want to pimp it slightly. what was the delivery times from Germany re the sline badge? many thnaks and the grill really interested me.
I see Audi only do the chrome trim pack for others but not for the B8 avant sline so Halfords it may well be. So you bought the strip and cut it of at the right lenght and stuck it on?? Was it straightforward to do? Really would love to see a closer photo.
Many thnaks.

THank you. That looks fabaroony!"
So can you please telll me the exact trim where you bought it and also how you put it on as it looks like the new B8 has a bit of a rut in the allocated slots where the chrome would fit and also it thins out towards the ends, if you know what I mean.
Thanks again.

From Halfords, I copied others on the site and went for 3.5mm width which fits the indents in the grille just right.

"Chrome Trim Narrow 3.5mmx3.65m with self adhesive fastening for self styling design."

Its £10.99.

BE WARNED. The packaging is horendous I had to hide my purchase under my coat as I left. The pack has photos of the trim being used around wheel arches lights clusters and even door mirrors .....;)

Simply meeasure and cut to size, pull off the backing and attach.

I think I saw that you had opt'd for P/Black over Lava.

If this is a no brainer for you then great and having lived with Phantom Black for nearly 4 years, I know the attraction.

However.......if there is any doubt, do Lava.

I was sold on black until I saw a Lava demo at the ******** with 19"'s and demanded I had it for the day to live with it to make sure. I was bowled over by the colour and the tints in sunlight.

Then after B19RAK's pic's posted that was it.....

If you are sold on Black then ignore me as I have said its a great colour.

The wheelsa had to be refurbed by Audi as the 2 fronts had scuffs and I then spoke to Sandra at: www.thepolishedwheelcompany.com (http://www.thepolishedwheelcompany.com) who was fantastic and just the best in getting the job done to perfection! and gave amazing advice as to the best colour for my wheels, they had done a Q7 with the black chrome and went with that. Let me tell you right now that in the flesh they really come alive, am so so happy. I remeber seeing a RS6 in black with these exact colour wheels at my local Audi a while ago and thinking WOW how cool.one day!!!!!!
