Oil

Hi Everyone,
i have a 2001 gold gt tdi 130bhp, and i need to top up the oil a bit.. howeevr im unsure which one to use?!

what one would VW put in when they service, and is there a specific one i should be using?!

Volkswagen use TITAN supersyn sl 5W40 (VWG 502.00) but this is only on the variable service intervalmodel,which yours should be. Any other vmake of oil will do ,as long as it it is 5W40 - eg Castrol Edge, Mobil 1 etc.
