Hi,

Just had someone testdrive my dads 2003 A6 TDI and they found if you put it in 3rd and accelerate it is fine and pulls away as it should. If you push it past the natural position for 3rd there is a vibration felt through the gear lever. To me it feels like it catching on a gear. I have tried it and it is there. I also tried it on my A4 but the gearstick won't push far enough (which I don't have a problem with!! :) )

Again in normal driving the car is perfect and has very low mileage. I have driven the car many times and so has my dad obviously and have never expirienced this until he pointed it out.

The guy is wanting to know if it is a fault or do all A6's do it. He has a 96 merc C class estate which I believe does have a longer throw on the gearchange.

Does any one know is it normal for an A6 or is it a sign of something wrong?
