Car (2.0 TDI 170bhp) done 51000 miles. 15k since last long life service and booked in next week for next one.
Car running fine but Emission Warning light (constant amber engine symbol) came on last night. Car probably was still cold at time as had only done about 0.5mile from house prior to stopping for a few mins and then starting again. Light stayed on after starting the 2nd time and has remained on today for 25mile trip to garage.
Local independent Audi workshop plugged the laptop in and when we looked at it there were two faults logged both indicating an EGR problem.
Workshop cleared faults and warning light and car been ok for 10mile trip to office. They suggest EGR valve needs replaced.
Any thoughts for the symptoms and mileage?
I did have same warning last year (about 14k miles ago) but when interrogated fault was shown as 'fleeting' and ended up being a faulty sensor. Also when it was cleared initially it came back on almost immediately.
