Modified Insurance - Who??

Hi,

I have a 1.8T passat and was thinking about getting it chipped but before doing anything I thought I would check out the insurance.. Currently I pay about £380.. I did a quote online for my car as it would be chipped and the insurance jumped to over £1000.. Is this the kind of money you are paying to insure your modified cars? It would be like paying for the chip twice every year..

Of course there is the question of how many people chip their cars and just don't tell the insurance about it?

Anyway, I would be interested in hearing what a reasonable amount to pat is for a modified VW and which companies are the most competitive..

Same here, they were cheaper than Churchill with wheels/stereo counted for.
